Why I Created House of Evolura™
I created House of Evolura to explore what happens when we see ourselves—and our impact—more clearly.
Sometimes that means helping a leader understand what it's actually like to be led by them.
Sometimes it means helping someone recognize the value, experience, and capability they've been carrying all along.
And sometimes it means asking a much more personal question:
Who am I when the role that once defined me no longer does?
My work lives at the intersection of leadership, identity, influence, and intentional becoming.
Because whether we're leading others or navigating a transition of our own, I believe meaningful change begins when we stop simply asking "What should I do next?" and become willing to ask "Who do I want to be next?"
A Little More About Me
Before House of Evolura became a business, many of these ideas were being lived in my own life.
I've experienced success, reinvention, uncomfortable beginnings, unexpected endings, and seasons when the person I was becoming no longer fit comfortably inside the life I'd built.
I've learned that growth isn't always about becoming someone entirely new.
Sometimes it's about returning to what's authentically yours, recognizing what you've gathered along the way, and intentionally deciding what you'll do with it next.
Today, I bring that perspective to my work as a leader, entrepreneur, speaker, and author.
And I'm still doing the work myself.
What I Believe
Every leader leaves a wake.
Our titles are never the whole story of who we are.
What we've lived can become something we contribute.
Access becomes more powerful when we use it to create access for others.
And perhaps most importantly:
There is room for more than one of us to rise.
That's the kind of House I'm building.
Welcome to House of Evolura™.
Where Authenticity Becomes Power.
I believe who we become matters more than the roles we've been given.
I'm Susan Throop (pronounced “Troop”), founder of House of Evolura™, speaker, author, and leadership strategist.
For nearly two decades, I've built my career inside a Fortune 500 organization, including years leading people, teams, complex initiatives, and change—and learning something I now believe deeply:
The most important parts of who we are rarely fit neatly on a résumé.
•Titles tell people what we've done.
•Roles tell people where we've served.
•Credentials tell part of the story.
But they don't tell the whole story.
They don't capture the experiences that shaped us, the strengths we discovered when things got hard, the impact we've had on other people, or the person we've become along the way.
That belief is at the heart of House of Evolura.
My Leadership Work
I help leaders become people others want to follow.
Through experiences including Discover Your Wake™ and Echo Leader™, I help leaders see beyond their intentions to understand the experience they're actually creating for the people around them.
Because:
Leadership isn't measured by what you intend. It's measured by what it's like to be led by you.
My approach isn't about giving leaders another list of behaviors to perform. It's about awareness, reflection, intentional practice, and becoming more consistent in how they show up when it matters.
Beyond the Visible Résumé
Some of my work reaches beyond traditional leadership development.
Invisible Résumé™ explores the capabilities, wisdom, experiences, strengths, and stories we carry that conventional credentials can never fully capture.
Return to You™ is an emerging body of work exploring what happens when a role or chapter that once helped define us changes or ends.
Both begin with questions I'm deeply interested in:
Who am I beyond the roles I've held?
What do I carry forward?
And what will I create with it next?
